One of the few board-certified reproductive endocrinologists in Illinois, Dr. Amos Madanes has helped infertile couples to conceive since 1979. As Director of Midwest Fertility Center since 1984, he uses the most advanced methods in the treatment of infertility. Dr. Madanes earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Tel Aviv University in Israel. After completing specialty training at Tufts University in Boston, he underwent two additional years of reproductive endocrinology training at Harvard University School of Medicine and at Tufts.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Madanes has developed several revolutionary assisted-reproduction procedures and has come to be known as an innovator and leader in the field of reproductive endocrinology. In fact, the first pregnancy in the United States to result from a non-surgical intra-tubal insemination procedure was achieved by Dr. Madanes in December 1989. The incredible results of this technique brought new hope to couples, particularly those dealing with male-factor infertility.
Dr. Amos Madanes has also led the way in advocating a more holistic approach to patient care by recognizing the necessity of meeting both the physical and emotional needs of his patients. Under his direction, Midwest Fertility Center has expanded this area of practice through the introduction of new programs focused on improving the overall health of infertile couples.
Before becoming director of the Center, Dr. Madanes served as Chief of Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago and as Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois. He is widely published and has authored numerous articles and textbook chapters exploring infertility and its treatment.

As our Director of Psychological Services, Dr. Jan Remer-Osborn provides exceptional care for couples dealing with sexual dysfunction, anxiety, adjustment and stress disorders, and premenstrual syndrome, and other emotional/psychological needs. Through the use of various techniques, including relaxation training, rehabilitation, marital and sexual therapy, and neuropsychology, Dr. Osborn has helped countless couples and individuals to restore their relationships and emotional health.
After receiving her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Dr. Jan Remer-Osborn spent time at the University of Chicago Medical Center's Department of Psychiatry, where she completed an internship and protectoral training in the Sex and Marital Therapy Program. She also underwent post-doctoral training at the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic (affiliated with Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital), staying on as a clinical neuropsychologist.
Dr. Osborn also held a faculty appointment at Northwestern University and worked as a psychologist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Continuing her work as an educator, she currently serves as an adjunct instructor at Elmhurst College.
For Dr. Osborn, the goal of her services at Midwest Fertility Center is to provide patients with the skills and knowledge they need to maintain their psychological health. She believes that each couple and individual has a unique set of needs and circumstances, particularly when it comes to the issue of infertility. By improving the ability of patients to respect, empathize, and regulate the overwhelming emotions associated with this problem, Dr. Osborn gives them the ability to move forward with their treatment in a healthier way.

Jan Remer-Osborn, Ph.D., is a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
Dr. Jeannette Israel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana. She went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine degree from Chicago Medical School, and followed this with an internship in pediatrics at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital and a fellowship in Genetics and Human Development.
One of the leading genetics experts in the United States, Dr. Israel is the genetic counselor at Midwest Fertility Center, handling prenatal genetic testing for pregnant patients aged 35 years or older. In addition to her work with the Center, Dr. Israel is an attending physician at Copley Hospital, Silver Cross Hospital, Hinsdale Hospital, Palos Community Hospital, Christ Hospital, and Central DuPage Hospital. Over the years, she has become a distinguished Chicago-area lecturer and instructor, and has been widely published in the field of genetics and pediatrics.
Jeannette Israel, M.D. is a member of the American Academy of Human Genetics and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Laurence Levine is a well-known, board-certified urologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of male infertility. Dr. Levine received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Colorado Medical School in Denver, and he followed this with an internship and junior residency in general surgery at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston. He completed a chief residency at American Hospital of Paris, in France, and a residency in urology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, in Boston.
Dr. Levine is a highly regarded lecturer and instructor on impotence, testicular cancer, and other male infertility-related diseases. He has held numerous positions throughout his career, including Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at Rush Medical College, and Assistant Director of Urologic Education in the Department of Urology at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Laurence Levine, M.D., is a member of the American Fertility Society, the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology, the American Urology Association, and the American College of Surgeons.
After receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Donna E. Pratt went on to complete both her residency and fellowship in obstetrics and gynecology at Michael Reese Hospital. A board-certified Ob/Gyn and respected reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Pratt has spent the past 20 years dedicating her medical career to helping infertile couples achieve their dreams of a family.
Over the years, Dr. Pratt has served as Assistant Professor and Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecological residency-training program at the University of Chicago, as Vice President of Medical Affairs for the Center for Human Reproduction, and in a number of other prestigious positions. She is also known around the world through her extensive publications and lectures on the field of reproductive medicine.
Dr. Donna Pratt has earned a reputation as a caring and compassionate doctor, and her skill and experience have helped countless couples create or expand their families through assisted reproduction treatment.

Dr. Hisham F. Greiss, a renowned geneticist, is director of the reproductive laboratories at Midwest Fertility Center. Dr. Greiss received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Cairo Medical College and his Ph.D. in genetic selection from the Bulgarian Academy. He was awarded an Honoree Professorship in the Ukrainian Academy, and he is a certified Embryology Laboratory Director from the American Board of Bioanalysis.
Prior to joining the team at Midwest Fertility Center, Dr. Greiss held many prestigious positions, including Supervisor of Embryology and Andrology at the Center of Human Reproduction in Chicago, Illinois and Senior Embryologist at the Center for Human Reproduction in Sofia, Bulgaria. Under the direction of Dr. Greiss, the reproductive laboratories at Midwest Fertility Center (MFC) are CLIA accredited and certified with commendation by the American College of Pathologists (CAP).
Dr. Greiss has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles in 10 countries on the subject of genetic selection. He also has visited and served in more than 25 countries in a professional capacity. His expertise in micromanipulation and extended sequential embryo culture has maintained pregnancy and take-home baby rates higher than the U.S. national average.
Hisham F. Greiss, M.D., Ph.D. is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the American College for Reproductive Biology (CRB).
Dr. Jonathan Song received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College, and he completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He also completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at the Oakbrook Institute of Endoscopy, under the direction of Dr. Carlos Rotman. Certified in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery by the Accreditation Council of Gynecologic Endoscopy (ACGE), Dr. Song is renowned as a leader in his field.
In 2000, Dr. Song and Dr. Rotman performed a laparoscopic appendectomy on a female patient with situs inversus (reverse positioning of the major organs) and who had endometriosis, becoming the first pair of surgeons in the world to do so. The next year, Dr. Song and his colleagues were the first to use thrombolytic therapy along with anticoagulation treatment to help a pregnant patient with a renal vein thrombosis.
Dr. Song has authored numerous articles about gynecology, obstetrics, laparoscopic surgery, and infectious disease, as well as case reports covering procedures and management in medicine that have not been done before. As a faculty member, he regularly presents cases and videos of his surgeries to the annual meetings of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS).
Jonathan Y. Song, M.D., is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. He is the recipient of several surgical awards and competitions, including the Aescuplapius Award for excellence in teaching and patient care, as well as the 2003 Karl Storz International Laparoscopic Suturing Event.
The Midwest Endoscopic Center is headed by Dr. Carlos Rotman, a board-certified Gynecologic Surgeon, certified Laparoscopic Surgeon, and Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rush Medical College. Dr. Rotman is also widely known as the Director of the prestigious Oak Brook Institute of Endoscopy. His work with laparoscopy began during his time as a gynecology resident in the 1970s, and he began to use laparoscopic techniques in 1980 to effectively and safely perform abdominal and pelvic surgery.
Dr. Rotman’s experience and innovation in the development of new laparoscopic instruments and techniques earned him the Golden Laparoscope Award from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists in 1994. He has achieved many other international and national honors as well. He and his associates continue to pioneer revolutionary operative procedures, advancing both the efficacy of laparoscopy and the beneficial results for patients.
